MCP Yahoo Finance Server
An MCP server that provides access to Yahoo Finance data through two tools:
get-historical-data: Fetch historical price data for a stockget-quote: Get current stock quote information
Installation
npm install
npm run build
Usage
You can run the server directly:
npm start
Or use it with Claude for Desktop by adding this to your claude_desktop_config.json:

get-historical-data
Fetches historical price data for a stock symbol.
Parameters:
symbol: Stock symbol (e.g. AAPL)from: Start date (YYYY-MM-DD)to: End date (YYYY-MM-DD)period: (Optional) Period - 'd' (daily), 'w' (weekly), 'm' (monthly), 'v' (dividends only)
get-quote
Gets current quote information for a stock symbol.
Parameters:
symbol: Stock symbol (e.g. AAPL)modules: (Optional) Array of quote modules to fetch (e.g. ['price', 'summaryDetail'])
