LegalContext is an open-source Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that creates a secure bridge between a law firm's Clio document management system and Claude Desktop AI assistant.

It connects to Clio's API to access legal documents securely, ensuring that all document processing occurs locally within the firm's infrastructure. LegalContext integrates seamlessly with Claude Desktop through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), allowing for efficient semantic search using LanceDB. This enables Claude to find the most relevant documents based on meaning rather than just keywords. Additionally, all responses from Claude include proper citations to the source documents, ensuring accuracy and reliability. LegalContext offers a free tier with limitations on the number of documents and queries, making it accessible for individual legal practitioners.
