Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open protocol that standardizes how applications provide context to LLMs, defined by Anthropic.

The Microsoft Copilot Studio ❤️ MCP lab is designed to teach users how to deploy an MCP Server and integrate it with Microsoft Copilot Studio. MCP provides a standardized way to connect AI models to various data sources and tools, allowing seamless integration of existing knowledge servers and APIs into Copilot Studio. MCP servers utilize connector infrastructure, enabling enterprise security and governance controls while supporting real-time data access for AI-powered agents. This lab guides users through creating a GitHub repository, deploying an Azure Web App, creating a Power Platform Connector, and adding the MCP Server as an action in Microsoft Copilot Studio. The lab also includes instructions for creating a humor-focused agent that delivers jokes upon user request, using the MCP Server to fetch jokes from various online sources.
