MCP project to connect Claude with Spotify, utilizing the Spotipy API.
The Spotify-MCP server is designed to integrate Claude with Spotify, allowing users to control Spotify playback and manage their music library through a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Built on top of the Spotipy API, this server provides functionalities such as starting, pausing, and skipping playback, searching for tracks, albums, artists, and playlists, retrieving information about these entities, and managing the Spotify queue. The server requires Spotify API keys and is intended to be run locally, with specific configurations for MacOS and Windows. It is important to note that some features have been deprecated by Spotify, and the server is not yet optimized for ephemeral environments. The project includes instructions for building, publishing, and debugging, with a focus on maintaining the health of the project and adding minor features.
